History
   
The Irish Racing Industry of 2010 is far removed from the racing industry of 1950. However, when the 12 good men and true signed the articles of the Irish Racehorse Trainers Association in 1950 little did they realise the importance of their decision and the positive impact their association would play in the future of Irish racing. In this article, Guy St. John Williams describes these remarkable men and their histories.
 
60 Years Growing  
Michael Vincent O’Brien, born on Good Friday 1917, was the junior member of the original twelve ‘subscribers’ to the Irish Race Horse Trainers’ Association, incorporated in Foster Place, Dublin, on Monday, 5 September 1950.
